Greetings.
Thank you for stopping by my site to learn more about me. I am LaJarlyn "LJ" Wesley. I was born and raised in the small town of Arkadelphia, AR. After graduating high school, I met the love of my life, Jameel, at Henderson State University.
After a short stay in TN, Jameel and I relocated back to AR and have called Maumelle home for the past 18 years. We love the small town and sense of community of Maumelle and have raised our two son Jameel, II (17) and Jaxsen (14) here since 2006.
In 2005, I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. I practiced as a registered nurse for 14 years, then transitioned in 2019 to help my husband with our family business. We are the owners of an independent financial services business - Secure Financial Solutions, LLC.
We are also faithful members of Eighth Street Missionary Baptist Church (ESMBC) - North Little Rock, AR, where Jameel has served as senior pastor, since 2006. At ESMBC, we serve to meet the needs of the community. Our church is nestled in the core of a poverty stricken food desert, The Shorter Gardens Community. Due to their lack of resources, this allows us a number of opportunities to connect with local and state resources to meet the needs of the residents within our community.

As a business owner, parent and resident of Maumelle, I also see the need for COMMUNITY. I enjoy the small town and I also understand the call for residents to serve where we live. It is my desire to serve my community and neighbors as a voice. Since 2006, I have witnessed the changes of Maumelle, and I also see opportunities for growth of our city. I hope to bring great energy with new ideas, while meeting the needs and concerns of the citizens of Maumelle.
